At its May 21, 1998 meeting the <br />Board of Health decided to offer appointment as Health Director <br />to Dr. Rosemary Summers, currently Interim Health Director. <br />The Board of Health's May 21 action to appoint Dr. Summers <br />was contingent on Dr. Summers acceptance of the appointment <br />and Board of County Commissioners approval of the <br />recommended salary of Salary Grade 80, Step 8C, $73,153. Dr. <br />Summers has indicated she will accept the appointment subject <br />to Board of Commissioners' approval of the recommended <br />salary. <br />Dr. Summers holds a masters and doctoral degree in public <br />health from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill <br />School of Public Health.
