13 <br />Occnpatioual Skills Training <br />CET's instx=onal program mtegrates activities to meet the unique needs of participants and to easore that <br />they are fillip prepared for a productive new job. The program is comprehenive, utilizing state of the art <br />educational methods. including: <br />a N1 ddar Curricala <br />o Self -paced learning <br />a Job related pre - vocational basic skills remediation <br />o Vocational Englisivas -amend Language <br />a Vocational and personal counseling <br />a Instruction in job seeking skills <br />Training is open -entry and open-exit with a variable course length. It is indMd=H=d, self- paced_ task - <br />oriented. and competcrncgfiase& Training facilities and teaching methodology simulate work conditions in order to <br />prepare trances not only with the knowledge required for their chosen occupation, but also with the proper wad <br />and behaviors. Pwictualirr, initiative and cooperation are emphasised <br />Ova 6o9'/* of a participant's training is hands -on, utilizing equipment sinu7ar to that which is in use by local <br />employers. An izmructa to trains ratio of appmminately one instructor for Oven to twenty students allows for <br />indivi personal attention. Only after the participant has demonstrated competency in the particular unit of <br />study does he or she trove on. <br />While they are in training, students are covered by the attached Cigna accident insurance policy. <br />Job Derdopnrmt &c Ptaammi <br />CET employs full -time job developers who identify job openings and link CET trainees with emplovers. Job <br />developers work with trainers from the beginning of training to their completion and placement on a job. Wben a <br />trainee is determined to be "jab ready" by the training team, he or she is zefim-ed to the job developer to begin the <br />job s=ch process. Throughout their toning, trainees attend job search workshops where they practice filling out <br />job applications, prepare: a resume, identify job openings. and practice i wncwing skills. Job developers refer <br />participants to training- r+dated job openings and provide ongoing support and assistance in the jab search FO= <br />Students do not leave training until they are actually placed is an unsubsidized job. At CET: Your diploma is a <br />job! <br />Follow "Sa'vites <br />Flow -cep are made by the job developer or an ahmini support counselor immediately upon placement <br />and thereaf2a for the net six months. Assistant-- is provided when a ms's problems are endangering job <br />smbriity. Ahmn d are eligible for re-emplopmeat assi if they lose their job.
