The County agreed to pay the reasonable costs and expenses of
South Orange EMS & Rescue Squad, Inc. in return for staff on ambulances as specified by the
County. The County encouraged South Orange EMS Rescue Squad, Inc. to enter into an
agreement with Orange County Rescue Squad to supplement the number of EMT's available.
The County further agreed to pay the reasonable and necessary costs of Orange County Rescue,
through the agreement with South Orange, contingent upon Orange County Rescue's
participation in the transport component. This agreement has worked well over the past year,
and Orange County EMS staff aze satisfied with the services provided by South Orange Rescue
Squad, Inc. The terms of the proposed agreement for 1998-99 are identical to those for the
current fiscal yeaz.
Recommendation(s): The Manager recommends the Board approve the renewal of agreement
and authorize the Chair to sign.
