No <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />Renewal <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />PAM JONES, ext. 2650 <br />Telephone Number- <br />Hillsborough 732-8181 <br />Chapel Hill 967-9251 <br />Mebane 227-2031 <br />Durham 688-7331 <br />PURPOSE: To consider approving a lease renewal for the Efland Rescue Unit <br />Building. <br />BACKGROUND: The County entered into an agreement with the Efland Rescue Unit <br />and Volunteer Fire Department in 1985 for the use of the Efland Rescue Unit Building. <br />The building is used as a base for the County's Emergency Medical Services personnel. <br />The County's annual obligation for this facility is summarized as follows: <br />• Annual rent cost: $1; <br />• Facility is included on the County's blanket property and liability insurance policy; <br />• County is responsible for any repairs/maintenance which may be needed. <br />Maintenance costs are estimated at less than $500 per year. <br />• County pays utilities. <br />• Either party may terminate this lease with 90 days notice to the other party. <br />Both parties desire that the lease be continued for a five year period under terms and <br />conditions as previously stated. <br />RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends that the Board approve a lease <br />renewal with the Efland Volunteer Fire Company, Inc., for use of the Rescue Unit <br />Building, for the term of July 1, 1998 through June 30, 2003. <br />
