For the <br />English property, sealed bids were solicited from participating contractors on March 19 and April 2, <br />1998 with no response. Bids came sohcitd again for a bid opening on June 3, 1998. Two bide <br />ved and oprned on this day. For the Cates properties, sea1M bids we solicted Dom <br />participating contractors for a bid openng on lurrc 5, 1998. Two bids were rmeived end opened on <br />the same day. The irdonml bidding process is governed by the North Carolina Gmeral Smmes <br />§143-ll I and does not require a minimum number ofbids. aid results arc attached. <br />Presem progrem procedures provide that housing rehabiliurion wntracts be awarded to the lowest <br />responsible bidder. In the case of the Cama properties, the lowest bid exceeded the amount of <br />vailable funding.
