The neeE for <br /> a MRF was itlentifetl in an earlier report from Weston (Final Report, IntegrateE <br /> Solitl Waste Managemen[ SWdy, May 1996) antl [he In[egrated Solitl Waste <br /> Management Plan previously adopted by all participating govemments. <br /> The tliversion achievetl ihmugh the establishment and operation of a MRF will <br /> contribute ro e#entling Ne useful life of the existing lantlfill site by appmximately <br /> one year, based on the implemen[ation schetlule presentetl below. The MRF is <br /> • requiretl to expanE [he recytling eXOtls ihat will be �cessary �o achieve roe <br /> AS°/a and 61% tlivereion goals. <br /> A survey was recentty delivered ro several neighboring juristlidions, Oranqe <br /> Regional Lantlfll users, and otM1er prospective MRF users lo detertnine ihe level � <br /> of interest in participating in the tlevelopment of a MRF and/or delivery of <br /> recydable materials ta a MRF establisheE in Orenge County. This informa[ion <br /> will assistln tle[ermining the appmpriate capaciry of �he MRF. The estimatetl <br /> capactty reQUired tor processing matenals genera�etl within Orange Counry only, <br /> Inclutlinq �he local municipal@ies is 100 tons per day. <br /> The estimated cost of the MRF has been iden�ifietl as $30 per ton, inclutling <br /> amotlizetl capital costs. <br /> A projectetl schedule for development and constmction o(the MRF is presen�etl <br /> below.
