NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />A public hearing will be held in the Judge F. Gordon Baale Superior Courtroom ofdre New Orange <br />Cowry Courthouse, 106 E. Margaret Lane, Hillsborough, NoM Carolina, on Monday, August 24, <br />1998, at 7:30 P.M. for the purpose of giving all intereso d citisem an opportunity to speak for or <br />against the following items: <br />GE COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT <br />CP- 98 Doke University <br />The proposed ameodmem to the Land Use Elemeat of the Compresersive Plan is to change die <br />designation of a 616 -acre parcel owned by Duke University Gom Public Interest Area (Upper Eno <br />Watershed Critical Area) to Apiouttuml Residential (Upper Eno Watershed Critical Area). The <br />property is located in Cheeks Toxvship on dx tmrh side of US Highway 70 east of Eflmrd and <br />1500 f«tw toftic Em River. It is referenced as lot 14 shoum onTax Map 41. <br />1. SUP 1 -98 G ma Commankatiovs <br />A Class A Special Use Permdt has been reques[M under the provisions of Article 8.8.17a of <br />the Orange County Z 'vg Ordmence to permit the covshuclion of a telecommutdwtion <br />tower. The proposed faedity xrould include a 2700.foot telecommmtieation tower, an <br />equipment cabinet, end an area for fume additioml klecommuvcation carters. <br />The subject property is soned Agricultural Residential (AR). It is located approximately 450 <br />fat east of Lloydmwn Road (SR 1960) with access from a private easement having an <br />entrance approximaely 2000 feet sods of NC Highway 54 Wes. The application includes <br />a 44acre trxt wkh rot additional ara to accommodate a fell tone easement The property <br />is ref aced as part of Lot 21 of Tax Map 24 in BingJdm Township. <br />2. SUP -b98 Geanon Communkatiom <br />A Class A Special Use Pemtit has been requested under the pmvisom of Abcle 8.8.17a of <br />the Onmge Couaty Zoning Ordinance to permit the construction of a telewmmunieatiov <br />tower. The proposed facility wowd include a 25afsot telewmmmdeation tower, an <br />equipnem cabinet and an area for fume additional telecommunication canrks. <br />The subject property is toned Rmal Buff (RB) and University Lake Protected Watershed <br />(U -PW). It is loaned 1155 fed noM of NC Highway 54 Wen with access from a <br />private road knows as O'Day Drive having an enhma approximately 600 felt west of <br />Bedrel- Widoiry Grove Chums Rued (SR I104). The application is for a 2.27-acre lot with <br />na additional area to accommodate a fall sore easement It is referenced as pan of Lot 9P of <br />Tax Map 28 in Bingham Townsldp. <br />
