To consider amending the lease with JOCCA for space leased at the County - <br />owned NoMSide space In Chapel Hill. <br />BACKGROUND. Building A, one of three buildings located on the NoMnida campus, was <br />previously occupied by Department on Aging (DOA), Social Services (DSS) and JOCCA. <br />The primary administrative function of the Department on Aging was moved from Nis building to <br />the Chapel Hill Senior Center in order to allay additional apace for the growth of DSS. DSS <br />relocated all of their offices from this building to the Southern Human Services Center (SHSC) <br />in March, 1998. <br />As the Board may recall, the County committed to OPC Mental Health to allow their use of the <br />building when the County completed ffm SHSC. However, budgetary constraints precluded the <br />Inclusion of space far DOA administrative Offices and senior center, necessitating the continued <br />use of the Northside facility. <br />OPC Mental Health has completed plans for the renovation of approximately 4,000 square feet <br />In the approximately 10,000 square foot building. A sketch of the proposed floor plan is <br />attached Renovations fair this work are funded by OPC Mental Health. <br />The remainder of the building will be used by DOA and JOCCA for offices and program space. <br />The attached floor plan depicts the allocation of spew, which Is summarized below: <br />• JOCCA will be allcatetl five offices for use by their administrative stag. It is our <br />understanding that Administrative Staff from Chatham County will be relocated to this facility <br />as space allows. <br />
