ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT FROM STATE'S LAND RECORDS MANAGEMENT PROGRAM <br />Approve a resolution accepting $16,000 from the State's Land Records <br />M~.nagement Program for the production of orthophoto base maps for Orange <br />unty on a matching basis and autharize the Ghair to sign the appropriate <br />'reement. The resolution is printed below: <br />BE IT RESOLVED, that the Orange County Board of Commissioners, <br />under the signature of its Chairman, accepts the 1985-86 Land <br />Records Grant of $16,000 from the State of North Carolina's <br />Land Records Management Program, Department of Natural <br />Resources and Community Development; <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Orange County agrees to the <br />conditions and requirements of the grant Agreement hereto <br />attached. <br />2. OLD COURTHOUSE TIME EXTENSION <br />To approve change orders for Adams/Tilley Electric Co., Inc. and <br />Industrial Maintenance and Supply, Inc. extending the completion date from <br />-January 10 to March 10, 1985. <br />3_. _ EXPAN$TON__OF_INSURANCE RATED DISTRICT <br />To apprave the expansion of the West Orange insurance fire rated <br />district from 4 road miles to 5 road males. <br />4. BUDGET AMENDMENTS <br />Ta approve .amending the 1985-86 Budget and Project Ordinance by the <br />following changes: <br />Handica Accessibilit Fund <br />Appropriation - Handicap Accessibility $ 11,440 <br />Source--Transfer from Capital Projects Fund $ 11,400 <br />Capital Projects_•Fund <br />- Appropriation - Transfer to Handicap Access. Fund $ 11,400 <br />Source -Appropriated Fund Balance $ 11,400 <br />5. FEDERAL. LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND _ <br />To approve the final grant application far development of the <br />Fairview Cammunity Park and authorize the 50% funding match from the Community <br />Development Block Grant. The resolution authorizing the development of <br />Fairview Community Park by the Orange County Recreation and Parks Department <br />is as follows: <br />WHEREAS, the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965 provides <br />for the making of grants by the National Park Service, Department of Interior <br />of the United Stated Government to States and to local, municipalities in <br />support of Outdoor Recreation projects and Such funds are available after <br />approval, of the appropriate State Agency and the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the State is required to insure that there will be no <br />discrimination against any person of any race, color, sex, creed, or political <br />affiliation; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Orange County realizes <br />that recreation facilities are not adequate to meet the minimum recreational <br />needs of the people of Orange Caunty; and <br />WHEREAS, it is believed that said Board with the assistance of the <br />general public is now in a position to lend full support to the development of <br />a Fairview Community park. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF ORANGE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA: <br />(1) That an application be made to the National Park Service, <br />'partment of Interior of the U.S. Government through the State of North <br />ralina far a development grant of $100,000 which represents fifty percent <br />
