20 <br />Land Use and Preservation Planner (Planner III <br />This would be a split position, shared between the Planning Department and the <br />Environment and Resource Conservation Department. The majority of the <br />position's duties would be in the Planning Department. <br />Planning Department Duties <br />In the Planning Department, the position would be assigned to the <br />Comprehensive Planning Division. Job duties and responsibilities would include <br />working with special projects, ad hoc committees, and policy analysis. <br />Specifically, the Land Use and Preservation Planner would: <br />• Evaluate proposed amendments to the Land Use Element of the County's <br />Comprehensive Plan <br />• Perform statistical analysis, including population projections and estimates <br />and an annual New Housing Starts report <br />• Work with the Comprehensive Planning Supervisor to coordinate Small Area <br />Plans authorized by the County Commissioners <br />• Work with the County Attorney as staff support to the Water and Sewer <br />Boundary Task Force <br />• Serve as staff support to the Bingham and Chapel Hill Township Advisory <br />Councils <br />• Provide information to citizens regarding the Land Use Element of the <br />Comprehensive Plan <br />• Work on additional special planning projects, such as cooperative planning <br />efforts with other jurisdictions <br />• Coordinate and oversee Neighborhood Information Meetings and issues <br />related to the Flexible Development provisions of the County Subdivision <br />Regulations <br />Environment and Resource Conservation Department Duties <br />Duties and responsibilities with the Environment and Resource Conservation <br />Department would include: <br />• Staff support to the Historic Preservation Commission <br />• Staff support to the Agricultural Districts Advisory Board <br />
