Summers, Health Director <br />Ext. 2411 <br />Chapel Hill 968-4501 <br />Durham 688-7331 <br />TELEPHONE NUMBERS: <br />Hillsborough 732-8181 <br />Mebane 227-2031 <br />PURPOSE: To proclaim the month of October as "SENIOR VACCINATION SEASON" and <br />endorse activities planned during the month. <br />BACKGROUND: The Governor has proclaimed October as Senior Vaccinaton Season in North <br />Carolina. The NC Department of Health and Human Services encourages local counties to plan <br />activities to educate the community about public health. The Calendaz of Events provides a list of <br />some of the planned activities in Orange County. Health education, screening, outreach, and public <br />awazeness events aze scheduled. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Boazd adopt the proclamation and <br />endorse the planned activities. <br />1 <br />
