What are the problems /needs /issues this request for additional staff is <br />addressing? <br />The Skill Development Center is a user friendly facility which provides job seekers and <br />employers access to a variety of employment and training resources under one roof. The <br />Center makes the best use of resources by co- locating training and employment resources <br />under one roof. <br />The Center represents a new concept for the community and the partners in the facility. <br />This position will be instrumental in customer flow, tracking job seeker and employer <br />needs, and ensuring information in the Center is current. <br />6. What other measures have been taken to address this problem/issue /need? Who <br />is currently during the work? If the work is being left undone, what are the <br />consequences of the work not being completed? <br />This is an innovative project scheduled to open December 1, 1998. <br />7. What specific outcomes or results are expected with this position? (bullet list) <br />• Create a one -stop information center for job seekers and employers regarding <br />employment and training services, <br />• Establish formal linkages between existing supportive services and employment and <br />training opportunities, <br />• Develop a seamless intake process for customers, <br />• Ensure a comprehensive system of workforce development is available. <br />28 <br />
