The Certificate of Achievement is <br />generally acknowledged as the highest form of recognition in the <br />azea of governmental accounting and financial reporting and its <br />attainment represents a significant accomplishment by an entity and <br />its management. <br />Orange County has been awadded the Certificate of Achievement <br />each yeaz since 1982. Each yeaz the eligibility standards for the <br />award become more stringent. The Finance staff is to be commended <br />for their ability to consistently meet the high standazds reflected by <br />this awazd. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that Ken Chavious and his Finance staff <br />be recognized for their accomplishments in being awarded the GFOA <br />Certificate of Achievement for the fiscal yeaz ended June 30, 1997 <br />financ97.doc <br />
