Department of Transportation State Funds to Support Rural General Public Transportation <br />The Board will consider applying for and accepting $13,000 in state funds for rural public <br />transportation, and entering into an agreement with the N.C. Department of Transportation for fiscal year 1998-99. <br />c. BOCC Meeting Schedule for Calendar Year 1999 <br />The Board will consider approving a regular meeting schedule for 1999. <br />d. Authorization to Contract with Home Respite Care Providers <br />The Board will consider authorizing the Department on Aging to inter into agreements with in-home <br />respite care providers. <br />e. HOME Program Community Revitalization Loan Fund <br />The Board will consider approving a development with EmPOWERment, Inc. and Orange Community <br />Housing Corporation for purchase and/or renovation of properties, and second mortgage assistance for first-time <br />home buyers. <br />f. Consultant Approval -Design Work for Electrical Connections to make Two Schools <br />Generator Compatible <br />The Board will consider approving a contract with Gary Sunderiand in the amount of $8,000 for <br />electrical design work to make two schools designated as emergency shelters generator compatible. <br />Q Personnel Ordinance revision -Promotion Pay Policy <br />The Board will consider amending the County's personnel ordinance to change policies concerning <br />employee pay upon promotion and reclassification as a result of discussions in its Oct. 13 work session. <br />9. ITEMS FOR DECISION -REGULAR AGENDA <br />a. Skills Development Center Operations Ptan and Budget (8:20-8:45) <br />The Board will review the operatio-rrs plan, consider approving a new position and budget, and accept <br />a state grant in the amount of $68,559 for the operation of the Skills Development Center. <br />b. Environment and Resource Conservation Department (ERCD) Proposal (8:45-9:00) <br />The Board will review a proposal for the formation of a new Environment and Resource Conservation <br />Department. <br />c. Proposed County Facilities Improvements (9:00-9:15) <br />The Board will consider a report on proposed improvements to various County facilities and approve a <br />list of improvements to be completed with funds appropriated in the budget for fiscal year 1998-99. <br />10. REPORTS <br />a. Cane Creek Watershed-Staff Report (9:15-9:30) <br />The Board will hear a report on-staff recommendations to protect the Cane reek watershed. <br />b. Housing Bond Program Pfllicy (9:30-9:45) - <br />The Board will hear a report from the Housing Bond Policy Task Force <br />c. Flexible Development Annual Report (9:45-10:007 <br />Board will hear the annual report on flexible development, covering the period July 1, 1997 through <br />June 30, 1998. - <br />11.
