It appears that the school may <br />reach the cap of 30 students before the end of first semester - there is a waiting list. The <br />program served 12 students during the 1997 -98 school year <br />• The anticipated date of moving into the mobile classrooms is the week of November 16. <br />• The program employs a part time psychiatric health nurse as a result of health needs <br />indicated by the evaluation. The staff also includes the Lead Teacher, 1 full time special <br />educator, 1 full time regular educator ( pending), full time guidance counselor, 1 full time <br />teacher assistant, a part time assistant (pending) for the special needs of an identified <br />student. <br />• We have partnered with Chapel Hill Tae Kwon Do to create an exciting pilot program that <br />meets three times a week to provide one -half of a PE credit for the students. <br />• The PLATO courseware and computer managed instructional program and state adopted <br />texts are used for the core curriculum for grades 7 - 11. We have enhanced the curriculum <br />with instructional and cultural arts field trips and provide service learning opportunities for <br />students. <br />
