191 . <br />Title: House Leader for Pre -K -1, 2 -3, and 4-5 Houses <br />Qualifications: 1. Valid NC teaching license; master's degree, preferred <br />2. Record of outstanding teaching performance with at least five <br />successful years of experience <br />3. Demonstrated successful experience in mentoring, related teacher <br />support, and or leadership roles <br />4. Such alternatives as the Board deems appropriate and acceptable <br />Reports to: Principal <br />Job Goal: To provide leadership, support, and supervision to teachers in a house <br />so that a sound educational program is available to all students. <br />Performance Responsibilities: <br />1. Provides leadership and coordination in the operation of the house. <br />2. Conveys to teachers the vision and mission of the school. Promotes application of the <br />vision and mission of the school in teaching practices in the house. <br />3. Promotes the professional development of teachers in the house. Observes classroom <br />instruction and conferences with teachers to provide feedback on instructional practices. <br />4. Performs the peer observations required by NC for non-tenured teachers. <br />5. Serves as a resource person for teachers in the house. Performs demonstration lessons with <br />students in classroom situations for observation by teachers, as appropriate. <br />6. Maintains regular frequent communications with teachers in the house. Plans, organizes, <br />and presides over meetings for the house. <br />7. Represents the house by serving on the school's Leadership Team. Serves as a <br />communication link between the house and school's Leadership Team. <br />8. Performs other duties as requested and assigned. <br />Terms of Employment: A one year appointment, renewable for a second year <br />Compensation: A $ 4,000 stipend is provided and <br />up to 5 days of release time during the school year and <br />up to 2 additional days of employment during the <br />summer at the per diem rate of pay <br />Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with <br />provisions of the Board's Evaluation Policy <br />Elementary # 8: August 20,1998 <br />
