The subject property (Tax Map Number <br />7.18..27D) contains 12.76 acres and is located immediately west of the existing <br />landfill on the north side of Eubanks Road. It is zoned Rural Buffer and <br />designated Rural Buffer on the Joint Planning Area Land Use Plan. The existing <br />landfill is in the Chapel Hill Transition Area on the Joint Planning Area Land Use <br />Plan. <br />The applicants are requesting a modification to a Class A Special Use Permit <br />issued on the above referenced property on May 5, 1997. The Special Use Permit <br />included the construction of a 4000 square foot vehicle maintenance building, the <br />processing of yard waste and storm debris on an ongoing basis, and the processing <br />of recyclable materials which included white appliances, tires and scrap metal. <br />
