^ 1.0 Executive Summary The proposed Lawrence Road subdivision development is to be located on a 87.3-acre site in the southeast quadrant of the intersection of Lawrence Road and US 70 Business east of Hillsborough, North Carolina. The area is currently zoned R-1. The proposed development consists of 249 lots for single family homes, plus recreation and open space to serve the development. As currently envisioned, the proposed development will be completed (built-out) in 2003. The Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA) has been accomplished to determine the future impact of the development on the adjacent roadway network. The following is a summary of the TIA fmdings. ^ Access into the development will consist of one street along US 70 Business and one street along Lawrence Road. Both streets are proposed to have full movement FSs~~~~ ^ The unsignalized intersection of US 70 Business and Lawrence Road is currently operating acceptably and will continue to operate at an acceptable Level-of-Service (LOS) during 2003 with no roadway improvements. ^ The unsignaliud intersection of NC 86 and Old NC 10 is currently operating acceptably. This intersection will operate with long delays for the left turn movement from Old NC 10 onto NC 86 in the AM peak-hour in 2003. Long delays for left tunas onto major thoroughfares and collectors are typical. This intersection is projected to meet signal warrants in 2003. ^ The unsignalized intersection of US 70 Business and US 70 Bypass is currently operating acceptably and will continue to operate at an acceptable Level-of-Service (LOS) during 2003 with no roadway improvements. -1- i; , ,;
