ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS /~ ~S- o2D/d p~j <br />RESOLUTION OF RECOGNITION ~' r /~ _~l~ <br />FOR .::,~ ~j <br />REIGSTER OF DEEDS JOYCE PEARSON <br />WHEREAS, Joyce Pearson has served the residents of Orange County for twenty-two <br />years with great distinction as Deputy Register of Deeds, Assistant to the Register of <br />Deeds, and Register of Deeds; and, <br />WHEREAS, in 1998, the voters of Orange County elected Joyce Pearson into office as <br />Register of Deeds, making her the second woman to hold this countywide elected office <br />in Orange County, and Ms. Pearson has proven herself to be a dedicated and effective <br />public servant who has gained the admiration and respect of all who have known her in <br />both the public and private sectors; and <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Pearson was responsible for the implementation of the AMCAD <br />(AMERICAN CADASTRE, LLC) System, a system that provides images on the web and <br />faster and more effective service; and <br />WHEREAS, during her tenure with the Register of Deeds office, Joyce Pearson has <br />served on the Vital Records, Constitution/By-Laws and Resolutions Committees of the <br />North Carolina Association of Register of Deeds; and <br />WHEREAS, through her tireless service Ms. Pearson has demonstrated leadership, <br />wisdom, and community spirit -all tempered with common sense and an approachable <br />and open demeanor -thus enhancing County services and improving Orange County's <br />unique quality of life; and <br />WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Commissioners desire, on behalf of <br />themselves and the residents of Orange County, to express to Joyce Pearson their deep <br />appreciation and gratitude for her service rendered to the County over the past twenty- <br />two years; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />offers Ms. Pearson its very best wishes for success, happiness, prosperity and good <br />health in her future endeavors. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be presented to Ms. Pearson and that <br />the Resolution be spread pon the minutes of this meeting. <br />This the ay f ~ e 20 : . <br />alerie P.
