BLACKMON AND HOWARD FITTS TO <br />SIGN AND PRE-AUDIT ALL COUNTY FINANCIAL INSTRUMENTS <br />WHEREAS, Kenneth T. Chavious will retire effective December 1, 2007, <br />And will no longer be authorized to sign County financial <br />instruments. <br />WHEREAS, The County needs other authorized persons to sign and pre- <br />audit its financial instruments in the absence of a Finance <br />Director. <br />WHEREAS, G.S. 159-28(a) of the North Carolina General Statutes permits <br />County Officials to perform the signature and pre-audit functions <br />only if designated as Deputy Finance Officer by the governing <br />board. <br />WHEREAS, Appropriate bonding is in place to cover the County Officials <br />being recommended for signatory authority. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Laura E. Blackmon and Howard Fitts <br />be designated as Deputy Finance Officers and authorized to sign and pre-audit <br />all County financial instruments. <br />This the 5th day of November, 2007 <br />Moses Carey, Jr, Chair L <br />Orange County Board f mmissioners <br />
