(L) Water from crawl space pumps, <br />(M) Footing drains, <br />(N) Lawn watering, <br />(0) Non - commercial car washing, <br />(P) Flows from riparian habitats and wetlands, <br />(Q) NPDES permitted discharges, <br />(R) Street wash water, <br />(S) Fire fighting emergency activities, <br />(T) Wash water from the cleaning of buildings, <br />(I) Dechlorinated backwash and draining associated with swimming pools, and <br />(V) Flows from firefighting. <br />(W) Discharges specified in writing by the County as being necessary to public health and <br />safety. <br />(X) Dye testing is an allowable discharge, but requires verbal notification to the County <br />prior to the time of the test. <br />(Y) Any non - stormwater discharge permitted under an NPDES permit, waiver, or waste <br />discharge order issued to the discharger and administered under the authority of the <br />Federal Environmental Protection Agency, provided that the discharger is in full <br />compliance with all requirements of the permit, waiver, or waste discharge order and <br />other applicable laws and regulations, and provided that written approval has been <br />granted for any discharge to the stormwater collection system. <br />a) Non- allowable discharges include but are not limited to dumping of <br />oil, anti- freeze; chemicals, garbage, paint or cleaning fluids, untreated <br />animal waste, commercial car washes, and industrial discharges. <br />(1) <br />(2) Orange County Planning and Inspections staff will be working <br />with businesses within the community that are affected by these <br />Ordinance requirements in the coming months. <br />(3) <br />(4) Please feel free to call our office at (919)245 -2585 with any <br />questions you may have or for a complete copy of our ordinance. <br />(5) <br />(6) Thank you for your cooperation. <br />(7) <br />(8) Sincerely, <br />(9) <br />(10) <br />(11) Craig Benedict, AICP, Planning Director <br />
