~ ,`~; <br />M I N U T E S <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COt1P1ISSI0PIERS <br />DECEMBER 3, 1964 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />1 <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on <br />December 3, 1984 at 7:30 p.m. in the Board of Commissioners' room in the <br />Orange County Courthouse in Eillsborough, North Carolina. <br />Commissioners Present: Chair bon 4di11hoit and Gommissioners Shirley <br />Marshall, Ben Lloyd, Norman Talker and Richard Whitted. <br />County Attorney present: Geoffrey Gledhill. <br />Commissioner Elect present: [doses Carey. <br />Staff Present: County~I~lanager Kenneth Thompson. Assistant County Manager <br />• William Laws, Purchasing Director Rob Addelson, Deputy Finance Director Ken <br />Chavious, Planner Susan 3mith- and Administrative Assistant and Clerk to the <br />Board Beverly A. Blythe. <br />A. APPRdVAL OF_L~'i~L~iT~'~ <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Marshall, seconded by Commissioner <br />Whitted to approve the October 16, 1?84 minutes as circulated. <br />VOTE: UNAN]Zt=OUS. <br />Commissioner Whitted requested adding to future minutes a list of the <br />staff present. <br />notion was made by Commissioner Marshall, seconded by Commissioner Lloyd <br />to approve the November 5 and November 12, 1984 minutes as corrected. <br />VOTE: UNAI`IMOUS. <br />The minutes for November 20, 1984 were withdrawn. <br />- B. g~g~?ora nP AFPP.ECYAT~O <br />Chair Willhoit read and presented to Commissioner jdhitted a Resolution of <br />Appreciation and Commendation (see page ~~ of these minutes for a copy of <br />this resolution). <br />•, Motion was made by Chair Willhoit, seconded by Commissioner Marshall to <br />approve and enter into the official minutes the Pesolution of Appreciation <br />and Commendation for Commissioner Whitted. <br />VOTE: UDIANTMOUS. <br />Chair Willhoit read and presented to Commissioner Whitted a plaque from <br />the Orange County Board of Commissioners on behalf of the citizens of Orange <br />County. <br />Commissioner Whitted thanked the Commissioners for the recognition and <br />thanked the citizens of Orange County for the opportunity of serving on the <br />Board for twelve (12) years. He stated that many challenges have been met <br />• with many more challenges yet to be met, especially in raising money to meet <br />the continued growth ana maintain the level of services that are now present. <br />xe also thanked the staff for their support. <br />G~ F F F <br />Ms. Emma Jean Levi, P_ttorney at Laca, administered the oaths of office to <br />newly elected and re-elected Commissioners Moses Carey, Jr. and Don Willhoit, <br />respectively. (The signed oaths are on permanent file in the office of the <br />Clerk to the Board). <br />
