~ ,`~; M I N U T E S ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COt1P1ISSI0PIERS DECEMBER 3, 1964 REGULAR MEETING 1 The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on December 3, 1984 at 7:30 p.m. in the Board of Commissioners' room in the Orange County Courthouse in Eillsborough, North Carolina. Commissioners Present: Chair bon 4di11hoit and Gommissioners Shirley Marshall, Ben Lloyd, Norman Talker and Richard Whitted. County Attorney present: Geoffrey Gledhill. Commissioner Elect present: [doses Carey. Staff Present: County~I~lanager Kenneth Thompson. Assistant County Manager • William Laws, Purchasing Director Rob Addelson, Deputy Finance Director Ken Chavious, Planner Susan 3mith- and Administrative Assistant and Clerk to the Board Beverly A. Blythe. A. APPRdVAL OF_L~'i~L~iT~'~ Motion was made by Commissioner Marshall, seconded by Commissioner Whitted to approve the October 16, 1?84 minutes as circulated. VOTE: UNAN]Zt=OUS. Commissioner Whitted requested adding to future minutes a list of the staff present. notion was made by Commissioner Marshall, seconded by Commissioner Lloyd to approve the November 5 and November 12, 1984 minutes as corrected. VOTE: UNAI`IMOUS. The minutes for November 20, 1984 were withdrawn. - B. g~g~?ora nP AFPP.ECYAT~O Chair Willhoit read and presented to Commissioner jdhitted a Resolution of Appreciation and Commendation (see page ~~ of these minutes for a copy of this resolution). •, Motion was made by Chair Willhoit, seconded by Commissioner Marshall to approve and enter into the official minutes the Pesolution of Appreciation and Commendation for Commissioner Whitted. VOTE: UDIANTMOUS. Chair Willhoit read and presented to Commissioner Whitted a plaque from the Orange County Board of Commissioners on behalf of the citizens of Orange County. Commissioner Whitted thanked the Commissioners for the recognition and thanked the citizens of Orange County for the opportunity of serving on the Board for twelve (12) years. He stated that many challenges have been met • with many more challenges yet to be met, especially in raising money to meet the continued growth ana maintain the level of services that are now present. xe also thanked the staff for their support. G~ F F F Ms. Emma Jean Levi, P_ttorney at Laca, administered the oaths of office to newly elected and re-elected Commissioners Moses Carey, Jr. and Don Willhoit, respectively.
