Staff moved <br />forward with pursuit of bids for renovation work for the Center facility on Valley Forge Road in <br />Hillsborough. Bids were solicited for both the renovation of the facility and food services <br />equipment to be utilized at the center. Bids were received from fourteen contractors on April <br />13, 2010 at 2:00 pm. <br />Equipment was identified as either tier one or tier two in the bid depending on how essential it <br />was to the functionality of the Center as well as cash flow during the initial six month period of <br />operations. Staff has used that list to make sure that the Center functions as approved and <br />does not exceed the available grant funding of $1,127,319. Morlando Construction LLC of <br />Concord, North Carolina submitted the apparent low bid at a total cost of $1,349,000. <br />
