The land records system in Orange County began in 1°7S; <br />2. the system in Orange County is exemplary and reviewed by other <br />Counties and states; <br />3. Oran;~e County has originated economies in computerizing land <br />records to provide correct data; <br />4. Orange County has a cooperative staff that vror{cs for the <br />betterment of the program vrith an outstanGing Data Processing Department; <br />5. six (G) other couraies in rTorth Carolina have lard record <br />departments; and <br />6. the system is rapping oriented consisting o= an integrated land <br />records system. <br />Betty .7une Hayes, °egister of Deeds, indicated that a meeting <br />was held by the County tTanager with a].l persons involved and the <br />responsibilities and duties for this project were agreed upon. An e`fort <br />has been made to write rules and guidelines for the program so the different <br />departments c•:i11 know what to e:;pect.
