2b <br />3 <br />Collins presented a rezoning request by Trlildwoad corporation to <br />change 12 acres from Residential-•1 to General Commercial-4 and to change 62 <br />acres from Residential-1 to Industrial--2 on the east .side of IBC 86 adjacent to <br />Interstate Fi5. The property is known as part o` Lot 4, tax map 45, <br />Hillsborough Township and within the HB-4 Central Orange Node which is <br />designated Commercial/industrial Transition - la year transistion. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Whitted, seconded by Commissioner <br />Marshall to deny approval of the requested-rezoning for Wildwood Corporation. <br />Commissioner Lloyd asked if the major concern was the traffic on 86 <br />_ and was told by Collins that this was one factor that was considered. A <br />planned development would place more control on the development of the Grea and <br />the traffic. <br />Commissioner !-Iarshall emphasized that the health, safety and welfare <br />of the people is of top priority and must be considered. <br />VOTE: Ayes, 3; Noes, 2 (Commissioners Lloyd and Walker). ' <br />5. PALIOURAS EPJTERP ES - REZONING REQUEST <br />Collins presented a rezoning request from Paliouras Enterprises to <br />chance 15 acres of land on the west side of NC66 from CC-3 Community Commercial <br />and R-1 Residential classification to GC--4 General Commercial. The property is <br />located on the west side of r?C Fib behind the existing Chris' Restaurant site <br />and known as lot 11A of Tax Piap 45 in Hillsborough Township. The site is <br />located in the Commercial-Industrial Transition Activity Diode, and the zoning <br />category requested is one of six (G) commercial zoning districts permitter in <br />- such a node.
