Orange County Library Board of Trustees - T~~otion was made by <br />Conunissioner Marshall, seconded by Commissioner Lloyd to approve the <br />appointment of Aileen Ray to the Orange County Library Board of Trustees. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />7. ABC Board - Mr. Jones and Mr. Breeze spoke about the <br />-. qualifications and dedication of Dr. Jack Moore and endorsed appointment of <br />Dr. T~loore to the ASC Board. <br />'" I.lotion was made by Commissioner Lloyd, seconded by Commissioner <br />Walker to appoint Dr. Jack T~loore to the ABC Board. <br />Commissioner I~ia~shall questioned the need for a policy with regard <br />to the maximum number of years a person may serve on any one particular Board <br />or Commission. She encouraged getting as many citizens involved as possible <br />on the various Boards and Commissions. <br />Chair Ylillhoit indicated that usually the maximum numbez of terms <br />is built into the bylaws of that particular Board or Commission. He <br />requested to table this item until the next regular Board meeting. <br />VOTE ON THE ORIGINAL MOTIOA?: Ayes, 2; Noes, 2 (Marshall. Willhoit) <br />8. Solid 1~7aste Task Force - Delayed until next Board meeting. <br />9. Health and T•ledical Care Advisory Board - P2otion was made by <br />Commissioner Parshall, seconded by Com,~issioner Lloyd to approve the <br />appointment of Theresa Singer to the Health and Medical Care Advisory Board. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />10. Planning Board -- E:otion was made by Commissioner Lloyd, seconded <br />by Commissioner 47alker to appoint William Aorsett to the Orange County <br />Planning Board. <br />Commissioner Parshall requested a delay for receipt of additional <br />resumes. <br />VOTE: P_yes, 2; Noes, 2 (T~arshall and Willhoit) <br />11. North Carolina Piedmont RC&D Area Steering Committee - &iotion was <br />made by Commissioner Marshall, seconded by Commissioner Lloyd to appoint <br />Colonel Bill Breeze for the "at large" position on the North Carolina <br />Piedmont RC&1) Area Steering Committee. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />12. Orange County Commission for Women - Motion was made by <br />Commissioner Marshall, seconded by Commissioner Lloyd to approve the <br />appointments of Bettye Edwards Clark, Judith W. Eastman, and Judy Wegner to <br />the Orange County Commission for Women. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />-- 13. Region J Emergency Medical Services Council - delayed until next <br />Board meeting. <br />16. ~ <br />den Thompson, County Manager, gave a summation of the project. <br />Dick Sherrill, representing Nick Y7alker, High School tennis coach, <br />read a letter from 47alters expressing a desire and need for the lights - not <br />only for the students but for the graduates and citizens in the community. <br />Lorraine Parker, Vice Chairman of the Parks and Recreation <br />Advisory Board, spike in support of the tennis court lights to provide an <br />opportunity to involve more of the community in this sport. If this reeruest <br />is denied at this time, she requested 100 funding for the next fiscal year. <br />
