Outside Agency Descriptions - continued <br />Rogers Eubanks Road Neighborhood Association (RENA) * $0 <br />• -In 2007, this socially cohesive and culturally rich community of approximately 85 households <br />founded a 501(c)(3) tax - exempt organization — the Rogers- Eubanks Neighborhood Association <br />(RENA) — to formalize their long term adhoc organization to more effectively address the <br />environmental and public health issues affecting the residents. <br />Senior Care of Orange County $42,000 <br />Senior Care of Orange County was created to provide a safe and enriching environment while <br />offering social and health services to frail, disabled, and isolated older adults. The program <br />provides respite and education for family members and caregivers with the primary goal of <br />preventing or delaying the institutionalization of participants. <br />The Arc of Orange County $3,000 <br />The Arc of Orange County works with and for people who either have or are at risk for <br />developmental disabilities to promote full participation in all areas of life in our community. <br />The ArtsCenter $3,000 <br />The Arts Center links art, artists and audiences in Orange County through programs, events and <br />classes designed in response to community needs and interests. The co- existence of visual, <br />performing and literary arts in one accessible facility encourages multi - disciplinary <br />collaborations and provides wide - ranging experiences for professionals, amateurs and non - <br />artists of all ages to learn about and participate in visual and performing arts. <br />The Women's Center $38,000 <br />• The Women's Center offers information, education, referral and support services for women. <br />These services include coordinating legal information, referrals to therapists, providing <br />workshops and support groups, hosting the state's largest juried art show for women artists, as <br />well as providing direct supportive services such as information and referral to area resources, <br />consumer credit and basic budget counseling, career counseling, and a pregnancy and violence <br />prevention program for at -risk adolescents and their families. <br />is <br />Triangle Radio Reading Service $1,000 <br />This agency broadcasts local and national newspapers and periodicals to elderly, visually and <br />physically impaired, and handicapped residents of Orange County. <br />Triangle Residential Options for Substance Abusers ( TROSA) $2,500 <br />TROSA is a comprehensive, long -term, residential substance abuse recovery program located <br />in Durham, North Carolina. Founded in 1994, TROSA is now the largest state licensed <br />residential therapeutic community in North Carolina and is widely respected for its innovative <br />therapeutic and entrepreneurial approach to the pervasive issue of substance abuse. <br />Agencies denoted with an asterisk are new requests in FY 2010 -11. <br />7 <br />
