The land use plan may be amended if it does not work. <br />Commissioner t•7hitted noted that the only difference between whet <br />is proposed in Cheeks Township and what exists now in Chapel Hill. ii:ingham, <br />Eno and Hillsborough Township is the water quality critical area and that <br />will be extended to the other areas that have impoundments. Chair <br />T7illhoit pointed out that the current land use plan is not appropriate and <br />is mat something the Planning Board can deal with in terms of sewer line <br />extension. This proposed Y7est Orange plan will aadress the concerns for <br />providing adequate space for industry and provide for the protection of the <br />water supply that will provide for future growth. Tt provides a planning <br />tool for dealing with these issues. <br />Ed Copeland questioned changing or amending the Land Use Plan at <br />a later date. Efland is fallovred through. Commissioner Lloyd stated has <br />opposition to the zoning until such time as the zoning is acceptable to the <br />people of Cheeks Townshir. Lindsey Efland had proposed that a committee <br />meet and work out a solution for the 4oning of Cheeks Township. <br />Commissioner ~•7i11hoit reiterated the process and procedures <br />followed for zoning issues and his concern far developing a process to get <br />the input at the proper stage in the process. He agreed with the proposal <br />i; the group would meet with the Planning Board and have the report given <br />by the Planning Board. <br />
