All property to be designated for new development under this <br />class ificatian shall have direct access to major collector streets, as <br />designated by the adopted Land Use Plan. <br />Staff Cnmment_:_ The subject property is located within the HB-4 Activity <br />Node. This node is focused on the interchange at the <br />intersection of an interstate (T-85) and an arterial highway (NC 86). <br />This site is located and has direct access on the east side of an arterial <br />(NC 86) as designated in bhe Land Use Plan. <br />Commissioner 4?alker made a motion, Commissioner Whitted <br />seconded the change of 4.87 acres of land on the east side of N.C. Highway <br />86 from an R-1 Residential Classification to GC--4 General Commercial-4 <br />with the use of a public sewer. VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />Fay consensus of the Board, Commissioner S•7illhoit requested the <br />Planning Department to add the traffic criteria to their report and take <br />into consideration when making a decision on development. <br />4. B°ax~~~_~~li~a~i~~n~3_~i~~a <br />Commissioner Marshall suggested that the Board serve as the <br />F3oard of Equalization and Review. Commissioner Whitted requested that the <br />meetings be worked into the regular meeting 5Chedule of the Board. The <br />Board agreed to serve as the Board of Equalization and Review and <br />requested FCermit Lloyd, Tax Supervisor, to set the meeting dates. <br />5. ~ovg~~~Y~r_ Hirina~s~slest_ r•_.a~9~1~L~r3T3ces <br />Tom P?ard, Director of Social Services, presented a recommen- <br />dation for a higher than entry level or miminum salary for a part-time <br />permanent posit.ian of Social Worker TI, Salary Grade 66, Step SB. <br />Commissioner 4Thitted moved, Commissioner Marshall seconded <br />approval for the higher than entry level salary. VOTE: UNAA]TrFOUS. <br />6 .
