VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />Coms~issioner ti~ihitted moved and Commissioner Marshall seconded <br />approval of the January 23, 1984 minutes as circulated with the following <br />corrections: <br />(1) Second paragraph - adjourned instead of extended (page 2) <br />(2) Page 11, sixth paragraph - was adjourned instead of was <br />- continued. <br />(3) Page 12, first paragraph - amortization instead of <br />" authorization <br />(4) Page 12, ninth paragraph - North Carolina Appelate Court <br />Case instead of Supreme Court Case. <br />(5) Page 13, sixth paragraph - adjourned instead of continued <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />D. ~~PORTS <br />1. 1~~X.e~I ED.d~~~~-j~ealth and M~~~~,ar~ gdvisorv_~~p~ <br />Wilbur tlorse, Chair of the Health and Medical Care Advisory <br />Council, .indicated the main thrust of the Council to develop a <br />comprehensive program that is not only available but accessible to all <br />citizens of Orange County. It is a long term project which must be a <br />regional plan to facilitate the need of hams care and in home care. The <br />:' Council has one vacancy and one inactive member. <br />Commissioner Marshall extended appreciation to the Council for <br />_ their program and encouraged a coordination of efforts with the Department <br />of Aging. <br />Commissioner j~mitted noted the trend to get people out <br />of the hospital and home earlier with home health services provided in the <br />home and as this need increases, so will the responsibilities of the <br />Council. <br />2 ~a.II1I1~-~9x~r.S~ .Motio~ywer anr~..~'2~P..~~~D.°elS2I1 <br />FeaaGihility ReDOrt <br />Marvin Collins. Airector of Planning, noted that at the <br />February 29, 1984 meeting of the Planning Board John McAdams was present <br />to make a presentation on the tvro reports. The Planning Board encourages <br />the Board of Commissioners to zone the Efland/Cheeks Township area --- the <br />plan that vrent to public hearing on November 28, 1983 -- as soon as <br />possible. The Planning Board does not feel it can comment on the sewerage <br />proposal until a zoning decision is made and the Land Use Plan is adopted. <br />Commissioner t~arshall moved that the zoning of the Efland <br />Cheeks Township and the Land Use Plan that was presented at the November <br />28 public hearing be placed on the agenda for the first meeting in April. <br />Commissioner Willhoit requested the Planning staff and Board to <br />consider for the presentation on April 2 the question of how it relates to <br />economic development activity in Cheeks as it pertains to: (1) quality of <br />life in relation to the quality of the roads; (2) diversifying the right <br />development; (3) tight zoning protection to attract quality industry, and <br />(~#) quality of life in recruiting the industry. <br />Commissioner Yv-hitted seconded the motion.
