FThitted, Chairman, and Commissioners <br /> Ben Lloyd, Shirley Marshall, Norman Wal};er and Don Willhoit. <br /> _ <br /> A. BOARD C� g4FTS <br /> Commissioner Whitted deleted item "E" and added a response to a letter <br /> from Ann Sanford. <br /> i <br /> B. <br /> None <br /> C. BOAP.D ORGAN22A=7 <br /> The first Monday in December is designated for Board organization. <br /> Commissioner T-1hitted announced that he will not be a candidate for reelection <br /> of Chairman of the Board for 1984. A vote, by ballot, for Chair indicated <br /> three (3) votes for Don Willhoit, Marshall, Whitted, Willhoit) and two (2) <br /> votes for Norman Walker, (Lloyd, Walker). A vote, by ballot, for Vice-Chair <br /> indicated three (3) votes for Shirley Marshall, (Marshall, Nhitted, Willhoit), <br /> and two (2) votes for Ben Lloyd, (Lloyd, Walker). Commissioner Don Willhoit <br /> commended Richard Whitted for an outstanding job and vowed to follow his <br /> example in chairing the meeting in a fair and impartial manner. <br /> D. APP0 DTIfi P1:''P OF IZUEER AND ATTPORP]�'1' <br /> Commissioner Whitted moved that Ken Thorpson be reappointed County [Tanager <br /> for 1984. This motion was seconded b,, Commissioner Marshall. VOTE: Unanimous. <br /> Commissioner Whitted moved, seconded by Comissioner Marshall to retain <br /> the firm of Colemanr Bernholz, Dickerson, Bernholz, Gledhill, and Hargrave for <br /> 1984. <br /> Pending a study of a full-tint? attorney versus part-time Commissioner <br /> Lloyd moved this item be tabled until the study is complete. Cam issioner Lloyd <br /> said that he believed from the discussion held on June 21, 1984, that a study <br /> was to have been prepared and this Mould be the approximate time for the study <br /> to be put in front of the Board. Commissioner ilhitted said that there had not <br /> been a consensus and he had not agreed to do the study. Chairman Whitted noted <br /> that the Board had not asked for a study to be done by the administration and <br /> he had not requested them to _do one. Com.issioner ;Ial.er seconded. She <br /> stated her x ti,illingness to discuss the program or any suggestions to further the <br /> development of the program. <br /> Corri.ssioner Tlillhoit introduced a letter from Ann Sanford, Director of <br /> the Outreach Project for the Chapel Hill-Carrboro area, in ttich they are <br /> proposing a model demonstration program of mainstream intervention services <br /> which intergrates handicapped with non-handicapped children.
