a <br />1016 <br />I11DUTES <br />Novenber 15, 1983 <br />The orange County Board of Conrcissioners met in regular session on Tueseay, <br />November 15, 1983, at 7:30 P.N. in the Courtroom of the Old Post Office <br />Builuing, Chapel I•ill, North Carolina. <br />Commissioners Present: Richard E. Roauest_ to SrhPfWJ_ _ -ia] Public Hearing i anuar�v <br />Nr. flick Cannity explained his request for a public hearing in January so <br />that construction for his client could begin in March instead of 7.-.ay. The <br />project consists of 220 -240 condominiums located south of Hillsborough and west <br />of j•,ildwood Phase II. <br />County tanager Thompson noted the staff difficulties in scheduling <br />additional special hearings. <br />Commissioner Willhoit suggested that since there is a feelin, of urgency or. <br />several items relating to the I -40 project, and since the study is currently <br />being crone, if it would be possible to schedule the I -40 hearing at the same <br />tire. <br />Commissioner Marshall suggested the end of January would allow enough time <br />to complete the 1 -4.0 study. <br />Commissioner Lloyd moved, seconded by Commissioner Walker, that a public <br />hearing be held on January 23, 1984 to consider a request from Frank Pearson <br />Associates and the I -40 Project. VOTE: Ayes, 5; Noes, 0. <br />C -2 Child _Ca;:-e_Coun -cil. <br />Commissioner Willhoit explained that the administrative structure of the <br />Child Care Council is not as important as the goals and mission of that effort. <br />Planning needs to be done for the functions that the Council intend to carry <br />out. In order to get the commitment needed the Council needs to rove ahead <br />with the planning for the functions of this operation. <br />Commissioner Walker nctee that the Social Services Board had not <br />appropriated any funds and since they did not vote on this Council, the <br />Council would be establishes: without an agreement. <br />Commissioner E arshall reiterated that the Social Services Board would not, <br />at this tine, play an active role on this Council. <br />Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded by Commissioner Marshall to approve <br />the "charges ".
