MM <br />Monterey County. <br />Landfill Biogas Extraction and Utilization - Municipality of Bourgas, Bulgaria. Project <br />Engineer. The Municipality of Bourgas, Bulgaria, is developing a biogas -to- electricity <br />system at the Bratovo landfill. HDR completed a feasibility study of a collection and <br />recovery system that will produce initially 0.5 megawatts. The project will be increased with <br />additional power generation modules and bioconversion technology to two megawatts. HDR <br />also provided engineering, construction, and operational consulting services to create a cost - <br />effective system to improve local environmental, health, and safety conditions. <br />Lemna Intl. Inc., Vietnam - Da Phuoc Solid Waste Disposal Facility and related Waste <br />Transfer Facilities. HDR/BVA provided services to California Waste Solutions (CWS) for <br />the development of a Technical and Financial analysis for various Solid Waste Management <br />Facilities serving the greater Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam. CWS is offering services to Ho <br />Chi Minh City including the development of a variety of waste management facilities at the <br />Da Phuoc site. The services at this site include a waste receipt unloading area and transfer <br />station, a Materials Recovery Facility, a Compost Facility, and a landfill. Further, we offer <br />to assist CWS with the development of an application to the USTDA for grant funding of <br />further technical evaluations of the proposed project. <br />Materials Recovery and Composting Facility Feasibility Analysis - Alameda County <br />Waste Management Authority, CA. Project Engineer. HDR provided planning and <br />development services for the Authority, working closely with elected officials to prepare a <br />report outlining serveral options for developing composting and materials recovery facilities. <br />Key issues included analysis of franchise obligations; public or private facility ownership, <br />operations, and financing; procurement processes; materials markets; and cost allocation <br />with identification of eight regional subgroups for facility development. For the second <br />phase, HDR facilitated a series of meetings with elected officials and staff representing each <br />subregion to determine which agencies should participate in the development stages of the <br />facilities. <br />Materials Recovery Facility Feasibility Study - City of Glendale, CA. Project Manager. <br />Managed the evaluation of various solid waste processing options, the preparation of several <br />designs for the different options, waste stream analysis, and a detailed cost estimate of a 275 - <br />to 825 -TPD materials recovery facility. This included reviewing different materials recovery <br />and composting type options for the City. <br />Napa- Vallejo Waste Management Authority, Devlin Road Transfer Station Review. <br />HDR/BVA conducted a review of the Devlin Road Transfer Station including meeting with <br />the operator for the Napa - Vallejo Waste Management Authority. HDR developed plans for <br />future C &D processing operations at the Transfer Station, for short-term as well as long- <br />term. HDR also suggested potential modifications to the Transfer Station to improve <br />efficiency for circulation, load out and the scale house. <br />Recology, Norcal - Digester at Tunnel Avenue Facility, San Francisco, CA. HDR is <br />offering assistance to Norcal to develop conceptual planning efforts for both conceptual <br />improvements and operations of a Rotating Aerobic Digester at the Norcal Tunnel Avenue <br />site in the City of San Francisco. <br />Recycling Center and Transfer Station Design - City of Palo Alto, CA. Project Manager. <br />Managed and prepared designs and corresponding economic analyses for several MRF, <br />transfer station, landfill, and curbside recyclables processing scenarios for the City. The <br />design included facility placement on landfill final grading plans. <br />Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority, SVSWA - Alternative Technology, Salinas, CA. <br />HDR helped the Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority explore emerging waste conversion <br />technologies with the ultimate goal of choosing an appropriate mix of technologies for the <br />Michael G.
