The County's Buena Vista Landfill is scheduled <br />to close by 2015 and the County must maximize diversion of materials and identify long- <br />term capacity for residual wastes. Tasks include: facility conceptual design, siting analysis, <br />public meetings, and implementation plan. <br />STOPWASTE PARTNERSHIP <br />Alameda County Waste Management Authority, California <br />Client Representative. Part of a five - member consulting team that is in its first year of <br />assisting the Partnership, which includes the Authority, Pacific Gas & Electric, East Bay <br />Municipal District, and the Economic Development Alliance for Business. Provides solid <br />waste diversion and waste prevention technical assistance to large- and medium -sized <br />businesses and public agencies in Alameda County. The Partnership currently has more <br />than 60 active clients, with the goal of diverting 7,500 tons per year through the <br />development of ongoing relationships that begin with on -site assessments and <br />development and implementation of recommendations, and to continue with monitoring <br />and reporting of diversion. Developing 10 new clients in three business sectors. Providing <br />organics technical assistance to large generators of organic materials. <br />75 PERCENT DIVERSION PLAN AND ALTERNATIVES ANALYSIS <br />Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority, California <br />Project Manager. Conducted a series of public workshops with the Authority Board to <br />identify the policies, programs and facilities to reach the Authority's goal of 75 percent <br />diversion and 50 years of facility capacity. Currently developing a 75 percent diversion <br />plan for the Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority which will identify the programs and <br />facilities needed to reach the Authority's goal of 75 percent diversion by 2015. Also <br />conducting an alternatives analysis to identify 50 years of disposal capacity for the <br />Authority through maximizing diversion, utilizing remaining capacity at existing <br />Authority landfills, identifying alternative landfills outside of the Authority, developing <br />alternative technologies to reduce the volume of residual wastes, and, potentially, <br />developing new landfill capacity within the Authority region. <br />PRESENTATIONS <br />"AB 2176 Workshop.
