This facility has significantly exceeded the County's forecast for collecting recyclables.
Citizen Convenience Center, St. Helena, Beaufort County, South Carolina
HDR provided
engineering and
construction management
services for the St.
Helena Citizen
Convenience Center.
This Design /Build project
required significant interfacing and
permitting with numerous utilities, governmental agencies
and citizen groups. The design made allowance for future
expansion of the facility to serve the growing sea island
areas. This facility has significantly exceeded the County's forecast for collecting tires and white goods due to its layout
and amenities; this in turn helps the County to control litter and blight
Drop -Off Convenience Center, Oconee County, South Carolina
HDR designed and prepared bid packages for nine recycling drop -off
convenience centers located at sites throughout the county. HDR personnel
provided construction management services for the facilities. Each center was
uniquely engineered to fit the topography of its site.
T he engineering design for each center included civil and mechanical aspects
including retaining walls, pavement, and earthwork to accommodate the
design criteria for each facility. Construction management and administration
services included bidding, pre -bid conferences, review of shop drawings,
quantities, field orders, and change orders as needed.
Page 34 1 ER
