... 4. 33 General Engineering and Environmental Management Services Wake County, North Carolina HDR is providing engineering consulting services to Wake County through a General Services contract which includes a multitude of projects within the Wake County Environmental Services system and the Wake County Facilities Design and Construction group. HDR has provided consulting services with the closure of the North Wake Landfill, the procurement and operation of the City of Raleigh Transfer Station operations and hauling contractor, environmental assessment of the closed East Wake Landfill, and assistance with establishment and operation of the South Wake Landfill — Phase 1 B. Project activities include assistance with: 4- • Review of closure of construction documents prepared by others. Key Elements. • Oversight of the Phase 1 B construction including review of the construction, w Contract procurement construction submittals and CQA documentation. • Operational assistance • Consulting relating to soil planning and uses for the long -term needs of the ' Construction oversight South Wake Landfill • Preparation of airspace management reports. • Evaluation of South Wake Landfill waste capacity options. • Preparation of contract between the County, the City of Raleigh, and waste hauling contractor. • Review of transfer station construction documents and construction progress. • Assistance with scale house operations such as intercom and security systems. HDR, as a teaming partner with Olver, Inc., assisted Wake County with the establishment and operation of the South Wake Landfill (SWLF) — Phase 1A located in Holly Springs, NC. Project activities include: ■ Assistance with managing the operations portion of the Agreement. Additional work associated with the SWLF included coordination with Waste Industries and the contractor regarding construction materials and activities including other projects and operations at the site. HDR/Olver also provide assistance as it relates to the permitting and construction of the SWLF with the construction of the new scale house, wetlands permitting and mitigation, transfer station operations, and on -site soil resources.
