STATE ACTION <br /> NRCD recommends that: <br /> a, The Upper Neuse and Upper Cape Fear Basin erosion <br /> control study recommendations be implemented over a five <br /> year period rather than lO years as proposed. <br /> (1) Necessary computer mapping and data will be provided <br /> to agencies to implement the Upper Neuse and' Upper <br /> Cape Fear basin erosion control recommendations. <br /> (2) Model guidelines for treating critical erosion <br /> areas for county BMP (best management practices) <br /> j <br /> programs will be developed. for implementation by <br /> local Soil and Water Conservation Districts. <br /> b. On-the-ground training for loggers and logging contractors <br /> in the watershed to reduce sedimentation will be provided, <br /> (1) NRCD will fund purchase by forest landowners of <br /> seedlings, seed, and mulch to stabilize critical <br /> areas, <br /> c.
