57S <br /> 4 <br /> E-4 Highway 70 (BnsinsssL.PQt;tion (see petition 01 in the Clerk's <br /> permanent file) <br /> Susan Smith of the Planning Department stated that the Highway Maintenance <br /> Engineer, Mr. Mike Mills, makes the initial determination of what roads need to <br /> be resurfaced in the County. Mr. Mills has compiled a list of primary, <br /> secondary and urban roads by need, and has forwarded that list to authorities <br /> in Greensboro for funding; the number one primary road priority is U.S. 70 <br /> C.R. "Booty" Laws of Eno Township noted that he had pictures and a petition <br /> with 573 signatures naming "Highway 70 Business" east of Hillsborough is in <br /> immediate need of attention; parts of the road are too narrow for school buses. <br /> He suggested that the Board endorse the petition and send it to the Highway" <br /> Commissioners. <br /> Commissioner Walker moved, seconded by Commissioner Marshall to endorse the <br /> petition to resurface the entire road and to request that immediate action be <br /> taken to do spot repairs. VOTE: Ayes, 5; Noes, 0. <br /> E-5 "-E=6 Commissioner Walker moved, seconded by <br /> Commissioner Lloyd to appoint John Carrol and Neil Tapp as trustees to the New <br /> Hope Fireman's Relief Fund. VOTE: Ayes, 5; Noes, 0. <br /> E-6 TZX_efund_ Reaugst Kermit Lloyd made three requests for tax refunds: <br /> 1. D.L. Patterson Trust erroneously listed one car too many. The bill of <br /> sale shows the car was sold in September, 1981 to a Pontiac dealer in <br /> Greensboro. This resulted in a tax refund as follows: <br /> County Tax $41.95 <br /> Chapel Hill School Dist. 9.78 <br /> Chapel Hill Fire Dist. 4.36 <br /> 56.09 <br /> Commissioner Whitted moved, seconded by Commissioner Marshall to approve the <br /> tax refund as recommended. VOTE: Ayes, 5; Noes, 0. <br /> 2. Mr. William E. Gaut - Error was made when the wrong house was listed to his <br /> lot. The house next door was charged at $64,863 to Mr. Gaut, when his house <br /> should have been worth $56,858. The difference for 1981 and 1982 is $124.74, <br /> which includes the 5% valuation for household property as follows: <br /> 1982 19R 1 TOTAM <br /> County tax $46.23 $43.55 $ 89.78 <br /> Chapel Hill School Dist. $12.27 $11.21 $ 23.48 <br /> So. VOTE: Ayes, 5; Noes, 0. <br /> 3. Albert G. and Esther Bivens moved a double wide mobile home onto a lot in <br /> Hillsborough. Tt .was assumed by the appraiser that it was new in 1979, being <br /> picked up for the first time in 1980 but was later found to be a 1974 model. <br /> The refund of $143.62 is as follows: <br /> 8� 1981, 129-0.
