This project would pay for the County's share of resurfacing eight <br /> full size tennis courts on the grounds of Orange High School. The <br /> County has had a long standing contractual arrangement for use of <br /> these courts by the public, which stipulates that the County will <br /> provide half of the funding required for capital repairs to the facility. <br /> The courts are in severe need of repair. The total project cost is <br /> estimated to be $300,000. <br /> These courts experience heavy use by members of the public, both <br /> formal, programmed settings as well as informal use. They are the <br /> only tennis courts available for public use in northern Orange <br /> County. The Orange County School District has prioritized this <br /> project in the CIP request they have submitted. <br /> 11.Painting (Interior and Exterior) of Facilities: <br /> 2007-08 Recommended Capital Funding: ($139,000) <br /> Re-appropriation of previously approved, uncommitted funds to <br /> higher priority County capital projects. <br /> 12.Seymour Senior Center Furnishings <br /> 2007-08 Recommended Capital Funding: $41,000 <br /> This project would complete all furnishings and equipment for the <br /> new Senior Center located on Homestead Road, Chapel Hill. <br /> 13.Waterproofing and Drainage: <br /> 2007-08 Recommended Capital Funding: ($71,000) <br /> Re-appropriation of previously approved, uncommitted funds to <br /> higher priority County capital projects. <br /> 14.Planning Upfit of County Space to Accommodate Departmental <br /> Relocations (Example — Upfit of Vacated Space at Link Governmental <br /> Services Center) <br /> 2007-08 Recommended Capital Funding: $100,000 <br /> Funding to begin the planning process for the retrofit of the Link <br /> Government Services Center following completion of the Gateway <br /> Building is included in the 2007 Capital recommendation. The <br /> developer continues to indicate December 2007 as the completion <br /> time for the Gateway Building. Based on that schedule, the offices <br /> of the Register of Deeds, Land Records, Tax Assessor and <br /> Revenue would be relocated to Gateway in early-2008.. As the <br /> Board has correctly mentioned, significant discussion must occur <br /> before the final decisions regarding the configuration and <br />
