Northern Fairview Community Park <br /> j OCO 8001 <br /> Dear Albert: <br /> As you are aware, on September S. 1983, at 2:00 P.M., we opened bids received <br /> for the clearing, grading, and other improvements for the site of the Northern <br /> Fairview Community Park. Bob Glover Grading Company of High Point was the <br /> successful low bidder. The' attached official bid tabulation itemizes all the <br /> unit and lump sum prices bid by each of the three bidders. <br /> Based upon our discussions this morning, we recommend that Item No. 1, Public <br /> Works Road, not be included in this contract; but be advertised and awarded <br /> as a separate contract. We feel that the road repairs and resurfacing can be <br /> done for some $6000 less than the amount bid by Bob Glover Grading Company <br /> for that work. <br /> We further recommend that a construction contract in the amount of $150,415.00 <br /> for all the work contained in Items 2 through 7, inclusive, of the Proposal,. <br /> be awarded to Bob Glover Grading Company of High Point. <br /> The proposed budget, based upon funds allocated for this work, is as follows. <br /> Construction $150,415.00 <br /> Engineering Feess Design 6.5$ <br /> Inspection 2.5% <br /> 9.0% 13,537.00 <br /> Contingencies 51000.00 <br /> TOTAL PROJECT BUDGET $168,952.00 <br /> If you should have any questions regarding our recommendation, please do not <br /> hesitate to call us. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> THE JOHN R.
