4 <br />County Support of Orange County Campus of Durham Technical Community College <br />As with local school districts, counties in North Carolina are responsible for supplementing state and <br />federal appropriations to community colleges. For the most part, counties are responsible for day-to- <br />day operating costs such as utilities, security and custodians. Counties are not responsible for <br />teaching staff. <br />The recommended budget provides $552,521 to Durham Technical Community College for FY <br />2010-11, which is the same funding, provided in the current year. FY2010-11 funding includes <br />current expense appropriation of $537,521 and recurring capital of $15,000. <br />Fee Schedule Changes <br />Additionally during tonight's work session, Commissioners will have an opportunity to discuss <br />the proposed fee schedule changes. Additional departments will be present at the June 3, <br />2010 work session. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Included in the Background Section. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board discuss the topics noted <br />and provide direction to staff, as appropriate. <br />
