As in the past, they will be <br /> projecting expenditures and revenues. Again this year, department heads <br /> will be asked to provide program performance data, which will be helpful <br /> in evaluating the cost effectiveness of deoartmental programs. Departments <br /> will be asked to justify all changes from current level budgeting. <br /> The calendar, while following much the same time table as last year, has <br /> been altered to allow another week for oreparation of the preliminary <br /> budget. The budget work sessions for the Board are scheduled to span the <br /> period from May l6 thru June 10. <br /> Public hearings are scheduled as follows: <br /> March 28 - First public hearing on proposed use of Revenue Sharing <br /> June 7 - First public hearing on Budget <br /> Second public hearing on Revenue Sharing <br /> 111TAGT: Board approval of the recommended calendar and forms, together with Board <br /> guidelines will insure a Drompt start of the preparation of the 1983-84 <br /> budget, and thereby a timely completion of the budget process. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): <br /> As the Board decides. <br />
