Harnett a Economic Development <br />MISSION: Harnett County will achieve a more balanced <br />economic condition by making extraordinary efforts to <br />compete more effectively for commercial and industrial <br />investments that will enhance the county's tax base and <br />improve countywide job opportunities for all of the <br />county's citizens. <br />STAFF: 3 - Economic Development Program <br />Coordinator, Administrative Assistant, Existing Industry <br />Manager <br />STRUCTURE: Public <br />ABOUT: This group of government, political, business <br />leaders and individuals focuses on a variety of economic <br />development efforts designed to attract growth that will <br />improve income and quality of life. <br />PURPOSE: Attract the growth necessary to improve <br />citizens' income and quality of life by: <br />• Promoting Harnett County <br />• Acquiring & holding real estate for industrial development <br />• Assisting in the construction and maintenance of <br />buildings and facilities <br />• Assisting in industry attraction & retention <br />• Advertising available Harnett County properties suitable <br />for industrial and economic development <br />• Providing information about Harnett County Economic <br />Development Initiatives <br />STRUCTURE: 501(c)3 <br />FUNDING: Initiatives are funded through membership <br />fees; public and private donations; federal and state <br />grants; and partnerships with ED allies. <br />
