'1 ~5-a~o7-a2.1 <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS 3 " ~ 7' a~o'y <br />RESOLUTION ~ <br />CABLE TV ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION <br />WHEREAS, the Cable TV Citizens Advisory Committee was formed in December 1979 to <br />recommend priorities for service options and customer standards to be considered in <br />granting a cable TV franchise; and <br />WHEREAS, Bob Gywnn, Michael Patrick, and Sharlene Pilkey served as citizen volunteers providing <br />technical guidance and leadership to effectively meet the goals and objectives of the <br />committee; and <br />WHEREAS, throughout the difficult years, as names changed with the cable companies and the <br />officials representing those companies, the committee members persevered to negotiate <br />and position the best possible service for the people of Orange County as identified by <br />the Board of Commissioners; and, <br />WHEREAS, volunteers are an invaluable asset to Orange County departments and agencies and their <br />service contributes to the cost effectiveness and efficiency of government operations; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, the involvement of volunteers such as Mr. Gywnn, Mr. Patrick, and Ms. Pilkey have <br />strengthened and reinforced the democratic process by contributing their time to help <br />address community challenges such as faced within the rapidly changing <br />telecommunications industry, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, let it be resolved that the Orange County Board of Commissioners recognizes <br />and sincerely thanks Bob Gywnn, Michael Patrick, and Sharlene Pilkey for their <br />community spirit, dedicated service, and unrelenting commitment to the residents of <br />Orange County by serving on and leading the Cable TV Advisory Committee. <br />This the 27~' day of March 2007. <br />Moses Carey, Jr., Chair <br />Orange County Board of <br />
