Tuesday, August 17, 1982, at 7:30 P.M. in the Commissioners' Room, Orange <br /> 9. County Courthouse, Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br /> 10. Commissioners present: Chairman Richard E. Whitted, and Commissioners <br /> .11. Norman Gustaveson, Shirley E. Marshall and Norman Walker. <br /> 12. Commissioner absent: Commissioner Don Willhoit. <br /> 13. A. BOARD COMMENTS <br /> 14- Commissioner Whitted removed from the agenda items C-3 Agricultural.Task <br /> 15. Force Implementation Committee and D-12 Firearms Ordinance due to incompleteness. <br /> 16. He added a Phillips Project Grant Application for the Youth Services Needs <br /> 17. Task Farce and the Deed from the Toi.;n of Hillsborough on the Old Courthouse. <br /> 18, B. AUDIENCE COMMENTS <br /> 19. There were no persons in the audience who wished to comment about items <br /> 20. on the agenda or not on the agenda. <br /> 21. C. REPORTS <br /> 22. 1. The Honorable Everette Pender, Mebane Town Council : Mr. Pender request:: ' <br /> 23. Orange County -Funds to help support the Mebane Library and Recreation Department. <br /> 21+. A survey revealed that 15-17% of Orange County residents use the Library and <br /> 25. 10% use the Recreation Department. The Board suggested that figures be kept <br /> 26. during the year on Orange County use and to whether these residents live within <br /> 27. city limits. Commissioner Whitted recommended that the Orange County Manager <br /> 28. meet with Ms.. Whitfield, Mebane Town Manager, to discuss this request at next <br /> 29, budget process. <br /> 30. 2. Emergency Management Plan: Mr. Bobby Bdker, Director of Emergency <br /> 31. Services, summarized his report listing accomplishments made since .July 1981. <br /> 32. He displayed two trunks used in cases of emergencies. One contained medical <br /> 33. supplies that would be needed to assist a large number of casualties; the <br /> 34, se_�nd to assist in cases of search and rescue.
