He said that he does not know if this was ever looked at <br /> again. He said that a change now would create a huge budget impact on the towns. The <br /> County would only benefit by about $1 million if the methodology were to change. He said that <br /> if any of the economic development districts were to receive commercial development, the <br /> towns would benefit by getting a larger portion of sales tax. He said that the population <br /> method does benefit the towns greatly. <br /> Commissioner Yuhasz said that he would like to know the situation that surrounded the <br /> last time the Board of County Commissioners approved this method. <br /> Commissioner Hemminger suggested putting this on a February agenda each year to <br /> review. Frank Clifton said that they could do an estimate, but the State has to certify the <br /> assessed values from all entities and it is not available until March. <br /> Chair Foushee suggested getting this information sooner rather than later, as soon <br /> after March 1st as possible. <br />
