2 <br />Per the tentative development timeline below, demolition would commence under a contract <br />issued by the Manager over the summer, with the construction bid prepared for award by the <br />Board after the summer break. A six-month construction time is projected for. completion of the <br />project after the construction bid is awarded. <br />TASK PROPOSED <br />BEGINNING <br />DATE END BY <br />DATE <br />BOCC Action: Authorization to proceed with Construction Documents <br />and Biddin Process 5/11/10 5/11/10 <br />CRZ prepares documents suitable for bidding project and submits <br />documents for re ulato a royal 5/12/10 6/15/10 <br />Demolition Phase 6/01/10 6/30/10 <br />Phase 2 Bid Process 6/15/10 7/15%10 <br />BOCC Action: Phase 2 Bid Award 8/17/10 8/17/10 <br />Phase 2 Construction estimated 6 month duration 9/13/10 3/18/11 <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding is available for project components as follows: <br />• Project # 30035: Link Center Upfit - $520,480 <br />o Funded via alternative financing approved by the BOCC in April 2009, to be <br />financed as short term debt sold in July 2010. <br />• Project # 30018: HVAC Projects - $90,777 <br />• Project #30019: ADA Compliance - $65,595 <br />• Project # 30023: Building Entry and Access Systems - $75,000 <br />Bids reflecting actual costs will be presented to the Board for approval after the summer break. <br />RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends that the Board review and provide <br />comments on the schematic design as presented; and authorize staff and the CRZ to proceed <br />with construction documents and bidding as outlined herein if the Board desires to move forward <br />with the project at this time. <br />
