C. The sections of the vehicles where the animals are <br />to be-kept should be cleaned and disinfected after <br />each use and as needed. <br />3. Enclosures In or On Vehicles: <br />a. Enclosures (including compartments or cages, <br />cartons, or crates) used to transport animals are <br />to be well constructed, well ventilated, and <br />designed in such a way to protect the health and <br />insure the safety of the animals. <br />b. These enclosures must be constructed or placed on <br />the vehicles so that: <br />(i) every animal in the vehicle has sufficient <br />fresh air for normal breathing, <br />(ii) the openings of these enclosures must be <br />easily accessible for emergency removals at <br />all times, <br />(iii)the animals must be adequately protected from <br />the elements, including heat and cold. <br />(iv) the animals must be adequately protected from <br />one another. <br />C. Only animals of the same species shall be <br />transported in the same enclosure. Puppies and <br />kittens under six (6) months of age shall not be <br />transported in the same enclosure with adult <br />animals, other than their mother. <br />d. Each enclosure used to transport animals shall be <br />large enough for each animal to stand erect, sit, <br />turn about freely and lie down in a normal <br />position. <br />e. Animals shall not be placed in enclosures over <br />other animals while being transported unless each <br />enclosure is so constructed to prevent animal <br />excreta from entering the other enclosures. <br />f.
