The Board took a thirty minute break and resumed deliberations with all <br />I <br />~ members present. <br />~ Chairman Whitted recapped the proposal which received the most discussion: <br />Contingency funded at $100,000 for $144,760 in revenue <br />Merit/Fringes suspended for one year $119,150 - . <br />Capital. outlay for schools <br />~~ Orange $476,250 . <br />CH-Carrboro $350,000 `"' <br />Capital outlay for County $275,000 <br />Economic development funded at $25,000 <br />Legal fees increase by $10;000 <br />Addition 2.6 persons for Soc. Services <br />Per pupil current expense $571 level <br />Appropriated fund balance $36.9,774 total <br />The tax rate would be $.55/per hundred dollars of evaluation for an <br />increase of $0.006 from last year's tax rate. <br />Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded. by Commissioner Marshall to adopt the <br />Orange County budget for Fiscal 1982-83, with the-modifications outlined above <br />by Chairman Whitted and to set the tax rate at $.55/per hundred and the Chapel <br />Hill-Carrboro School=District Supplemental Tax at $.146. <br />Vote: Ayes, 4 (Commissioners Gustaveson, Marshall, WFii.tted and Willhoit); <br />noes, 1 (Commissioner Walker). <br />Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded by Commissioner Walker, to set the Fire <br />Districts tax=rates and the Special District taz rates at the level recommended <br />the County Manager.
