area. opposition to locating Day care in the Cafeteria building was also <br /> voiced; reasons were that the Mental Health Center has money for locating <br /> a day hospital there as well as this building (the cafeteria) being a possible <br /> site for the Willie M. program. <br /> Ms. Pattie Paddock, Director of the Con=ity School for People Uhder Six <br /> i (hereafter referred to as Day Care), told the Board that locating the day care <br /> facility in the Cafetria was attractive to them. But they had no money for the <br /> renovation or the move. She,,-added a :concern was also a lack of permanency for <br /> Day Care.space- <br /> 03ndssimer Wilahoit said that on March 1st the Board would formlate what <br /> j <br /> would go to public hearing. Instructions to the Manager were to delete the <br /> i <br /> j driver' license office. the Board set March 16, 1982, at 7:30 P.M. in the <br /> :s <br /> Nutrition loan at the Northside Multipurpose for a public hearing on the space <br /> allocation of the site. <br /> A. Eno River State Park Measure Plan: Mr. Don Cox, Chairman of the Board <br /> of Supervisors for the Orange Soil and-Water Conservation District, presented this <br /> Plan to the Board. He stated the history of the Eno liver Park and said this was <br /> for the development of the Cates Fond area only in accordance with the RC & D <br /> program. He said there was no land acquisition involved, no local funding requested <br /> and orange County was being asked to sign the contract as one of the Sponsors of <br /> .the Park. <br /> Mr. Stuart Barbour, representing the Eno River Group, asked the Board of <br /> ourmi.ssioners to withhold approval of this Plan and to delay any action for sixty <br /> days to permit the Eno River Group time to study the Plan and prepare a list of <br /> questions for submission. Mr. Barbour said this is a waste of taxpayer's money <br /> and asked the Board to say no to the spending of tax money. <br /> Ms. Sandy Williamson;- representing the Eno River Association, said Mr. Barbour's <br /> concerns have no relation to the document the Board was being asked to approve. <br /> She said there is no land acquisition involved and this pertains only to the develop- <br /> mnent of one section. She added the com[rnrnity had been consulted as well as a study <br /> of the archaeology of the site completed. 7he goal is to preserve and protect the <br /> Park with access for the public. <br /> Mr. Cox said the environmental impact assessment had been widely circulated <br /> for this site and at that time he had answered a long list of questions. submitted <br /> I <br /> by Mr. Barbour. There will be no negative environmental impact. <br />
